WHALE CREEK IS FLOODING

Whale Creek is Flooding explores the landscape of a small town in New Jersey, subtly hinting at the traumas of its past: natural disasters, violence, and death. The cyclical nature of these events is echoed in the tidal cycle of the bay on which the neighborhood resides; the tide, much like the trauma, waxes and wanes. The book hints at what might have happened here, perhaps yesterday, or perhaps sixty years ago: a crumbling wall, a misplaced drain, shattered glass. The landscape, much like a person afflicted with trauma, bears its own scars.
